"Marcin and Sara placed 3rd and 4th in Birmingham. Report from Birmingham by Simon Walkowiak"
28th April 2008 - Profi-Dance.com

On the 20th of April - just one day after the tournament in Coventry, we went to Birmingham to compete in Tower Ballroom. Again, we were happy to see a good-sized dance floor with well designed stage and seating area around the floor. From the first moments it seemed that Birmingham competition would much less stressful than a day ago. Marcin and Sara felt relaxed and more confident about their potentials and skills. They decided to participate in 2 categories: Juveniles Novice and Juveniles Open Tower Trophy. Both categories were planned to have semi-finals. In the first semi-final, Juveniles Novice, Marcin and Sara danced at good standard, but they made a few simple mistakes in steps, frame and footwork, which fortunately did not affect an overall performance and they completed all judges' marks to the Final. In the second semi-final - Open Tower Trophy - packed with more experienced dancers and well-known to judges, Marcin and Sara presented themselves in a very positive way, they managed to avoid making mistakes and they performed at much higher level than in Novice semi-final. As the result they comfortably qualified to the Grand Final of the Trophy. In the Novice final they started from an outstandingly danced Waltz in which they were placed 2nd. To be honest I even believed that Marcin and Sara could be the winners that morning. Unfortunately some simple mistakes in Tango put my expectations in doubt and they were placed 3rd in the Novice category. I was and I am still so happy with their great success. Their potential is beyond any description. Fantastic presentation skills with stable frame and naturally straight body posture, good style of dancing and better than average footwork - all these features belong to Marcin and Sara. In the Open Tower Trophy, they also made an impressive start with their Waltz and then they kept a good form in Tango, Foxtrot and Quickstep and finally were placed 4th. This is undoubtedly one of the greatest success of these young dancers. Once again great congratulations should go to both dancers and their families. Personally I also feel satisfied with my work as this is the first Polish couple ever, which is on the way to challenge the best dancers in open circuit competitions throughout the United Kingdom.

"Profi-Dance's young couple in the Final! - report from Coventry by Simon Walkowiak"
28th April 2008 - Profi-Dance.com

After a reasonably short journey from London we got to Coventry quite early in the morning. Very rainy weather forced us to use services of local cab drivers and we arrived quickly to Ricoh Arena - a venue of Saturday's tournament. After a warm welcome from organisers we entered the main hall where Marcin and Sara were supposed to compete. Large dance floor, good stage design and neatly organised tables for spectators made a very positive impression. As we used on-site hotel rooms as our private cloakrooms we did not enter the public ones but they also seemed to be kept in a good order. During the warm-up session preceding the competition I felt like our children were a bit stressed and advised them to relax slightly. After a few moments, the main part of tournament started. It has been arranged by organisers that Juveniles would start from semi-finals and best 6 couples would qualify into the grand final. Marcin and Sara danced with no. 34 and shortly after the warm-up they were called to dance with other Juvenile couples. The first dance - the Waltz, went really good. I felt relieved and personally proud of my young learners that they tried so hard to remember about all my advices and tips. I also knew that the first dance of tournament was the most important for these young competitors and fortunately I saw smiles on Marcin's and Sara's faces after their succesful performance in the semi-final. I must also underline that our couple's presentation skills impressed all spectators and, hopefully, adjudicators. Great thanks should go especially to Marcin's and Sara's mothers who made all efforts to prepare their children's outlook in a professional way and I also really appreciate that mums were listening (with an uncommon patience!) to all my suggestions and comments throughout the competition :). After a while we heard that Profi-Dance's young talents qualified to the final and they were called to dance their last 4 dances that morning. Marcin and Sara presented themselves in a very good style and the were placed 6th. It was a great success for them to get into the best 6 couples on this tournament and just after mutual congratulations, hugs and kisses we started to think about some improvements which must be made to progress and should be discussed in the nearest future. At this point I must say and I will underline this that both Marcin and Sara are amazingly perspective couple of dancers and they can quickly reach the top. Their very "classy" and stylish outlook, Marcin's very nice frame and leading skills, Sara's fantastic head position, very good footwork and shape creation, should place this partnership amongst most successful Juveniles/Juniors in the UK for years to come. Once again Marcin and Sara: WELL DONE !!
